Why protein matters
Protein is the most important macronutrient for anyone who trains — it repairs muscle tissue, supports recovery, and keeps you fuller for longer. Most active people need between 1.6–2.2g of protein per kilogram of bodyweight each day, and protein bars are one of the most convenient ways to hit that target.
Why comparing prices saves you money
A bar that looks cheap at $3.00 might only have 12g of protein, while a $3.50 bar delivers 40g. That's nearly four times the protein for just 50 cents more. Without comparing, you're leaving gains and money on the table.
Coles and Woolworths rotate specials weekly, meaning the cheapest bar this week might be full price next week. Protein Match makes it easy to always know who has the better deal.
What is Protein Per Dollar?
Our standout metric. Instead of just listing prices, we calculate how many grams of protein you receive for every dollar spent. A bar with 40g protein at $3.20 gives you 12.5g of protein per dollar. A bar with 20g protein at $4.50 gives you just 4.4g per dollar. Same category, wildly different value.
